Jan Brett's book Trouble with Trolls is a story that can be used by classroom teachers many different ways and
across a curriculum. This story is a culturally correct Scandinavian folk tale. The main character Treva encounters
trolls with her dog as they traverse over the mountain. As is customary for Brett's work her thoughts spill
over into the borders of her illustrations as she draws the trolls and a mischievious hedgehog at the bottom of
each page. You can follow along as Treva outsmarts the trolls one by one to keep her dog and make her journey
to the other side of the mountain.
